In 1825 Joseph Perrier founded the "Joseph Perrier Fils et Cie" champagne house and established it in Châlons-sur-Marne on Route de Fagnières. In the 19th century,
Châlons-sur-Marne boasted many acres of vineyards and ten major brands.
